About Calhoun, GA - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Located in Gordon County, Georgia, Calhoun serves as the county seat and is home to about 15,650 people. The city is found on U.S. Interstate 75 about 50 miles south of Chattanooga, TN and 70 miles north of Atlanta. Originally part of the Cherokee Nation, Calhoun was taken by the U.S. under the Indian Removal Act and later joined the Confederacy during the American Civil War. Today, the Calhoun City School District serves the area, and Georgia Northwestern Technical College is also located in the community.

Calhoun is home to a variety of unique attractions and things to do. Calhoun’s GEM Theater reopened in 2011, and art fans might like to check out nearby Canvas Art Studio. Golf is popular in the area at courses like Fields Ferry Golf Cub and Calhoun Elks Lodge. There are a variety of family-friendly activities in the community, including B&B Skating Place, Carney Farms, Calhoun A-OK Campground, and the Calhoun Bowling Center. Other popular attractions in the city include the Harris Arts Center, New Echota Rivers Alliance, and Owasa Skin Care and Medical Spa.

Calhoun is located in a humid subtropical climate zone, which results in extremely different weather conditions during the year. In the summer months, residents experience hot temperatures with high humidity, and this also tends to be one of the rainiest seasons. Considering that temperatures can easily soar into the upper-90s during the height of the summer, it is crucial that Calhoun residents are able to access an air conditioning unit. When properly serviced, an energy efficient unit can help homeowners to save on utility and energy costs.

The winter months in Calhoun will notice a temperature shift, and conditions will cool down to the 50s. Snow and subzero temperatures are rare, but it is possible for overnight lows to fall below zero. An energy efficient furnace or heat pump will keep residents comfortable regardless of what is going on outside, and it will also protect plumbing and pipes from damage as a result of freeze.
